Nathan Silver is a recognised leader of his profession. He has been head of school, University of East London, Department of Architecture, reader in charge of architectural research, and a partner of a large UK practice. He is currently a consultant and expert witness on planning, design and construction, senior architectural assessor for the RIBA competitions group, member of executive committee, the Westminster Society, accredited RIBA client design advisor.

A consultant expert since 1981 with instructions on more than 150 cases, he has extensive experience preparing reports for legal purposes, giving evidence, and dealing authoritatively with examinations. He has lectured at Cambridge, written four leading texts on architecture, contributed to anthologies, written scores of articles for professional and lay journals, and was architecture correspondent for The New Statesman for eight years.
